The role of conditioner in pet feed production

Maturation treatment: The conditioner increases the gelatinization degree of starch and the thermal denaturation of protein under the action of water and heat, thereby improving the digestion and utilization rate of pellet feed

Sterilization treatment: Through conditioning treatment, most pathogenic bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Salmonella can be effectively killed, ensuring the hygiene level of feed

Improving water resistance: During the conditioning process, the viscous components in the material, gelatinized starch and denatured protein, can better bond the particles, making the pellet feed denser and less susceptible to moisture erosion

Improving granulation performance: The softened material after tempering is more malleable, reducing friction and energy consumption during the granulation process, and extending the service life of the granulator

Types and working principles of conditioners

There are mainly single axis blade type conditioners, which have a simple structure. A stirring shaft is installed in the middle of the cylindrical shell, and multiple adjustable and replaceable blades are installed on the stirring shaft. When the conditioner is working, the powder particles move in two directions under the stirring of the blade: rotating around the axis and pushing along the axis, with a motion trajectory similar to a spiral. By adjusting the picking angle of the blade, the quenching and tempering time of the material can be controlled
